So it's NYE. I went to work this morning, worked the box, something I rarely do. It was fairly busy. Read 40 or so pages of The Black House which is getting really interesting. Went home and jumped on the Internet. I could go to a party or two, but I do have to work tomorrow morning. Plus the locations are a bit of a distance for me. So I'll hang out at home with Anne and Max. :)

Happy New Year! 2006!

Movies I saw today:

King Kong - Saw it at Riverview with Jane and Anne. They know people who work there. I don't. Kids ran all over the place during the movie. The movie itself was fun but too long with parts they could've edited out. My rating: 3/5.

8 1/2 - Popular Fellini film that all cinephiles praise. I liked the music, some shots, and the fun ending but other than that I don't see what the fuss is about. I guess I just don't get it. Also, I probably have really bad taste in movies.

Now I'm watching Sky High. Japanese movie by Ryuhei Kitamura. It doesn't seem promising so far.

music: None. Watching The Silver Chair.

So Christmas was merry and life was mediocre, but I have no complaints. Max continues to be a small dog, Zelda continues being evil, Anne is still so dolch, I still have no idea what dolch means, and Jane is a girl.

Copying from myspace blog:

stuff i got:

krazy glue (from ben @ the ritz), long velvet coat, bath&body works lotion set, big bottle of neutrogena lotion (yes i got a lot of lotion), christmas pin, glass clock (or, like jane says, 'no one will make fun of your name now, mr. glassclock'), puma zip up jacket, chronicles of narnia DS (thanks, jane!), mario kart DS (thanks, dave!) aaaand, i think that's it!

music: Fake? - Nervous to Sleep

Well, I'm glad to have the Internet back. Since I'm lazy, I'm just going to crosspost from my gaiaJournal.

My internet went down on Wednesday and we finally got it back today, although the internet feed isn't on the splitter so we're getting it directly. If that doesn't make sense, it means we either get cable TV or cable Internet. Not both. Not until they fix whatever's wrong outside. The cable guy was a young black guy, who was really nice and I'm glad he didn't bitch too much about the cat and dog always around him. And the clothes hanging in the basement.

Past few days I couldn't remember. I saw Chronicles of Narnia after my shift Saturday with my sister at UA Riverview. I totally freaked the whole time I was waiting for her to come around. There was no trailer for X3 (DAMMIT!) or Superman Returns. I was so emotional during some scenes. Especially the part where Peter the high king goes 'FOR NARNIA! AND FOR ASLAN!' and I was just T_T I liked the casting EXCEPT for whoever played Lucy. The devil child. Or so she looked like one.

I am definitely looking forward to King Kong which comes out Wednesday. Memoirs of a Geisha and Brokeback Mountain also come out on Friday.

I'm almost done readiing The Talisman. Ben, one of the bosses at the Ritz, let me borrow The Black House which is a sequel. I can't wait to read it!

Quick movie rundown:

Kamikaze Girls - Lame. I did enjoy the embroidery and the cute lolita girl. I hated all the girl gangsters. So glad I didn't buy the DVD or anything.

My Tutor Friend - Awww. I loved the characters in this one. Sure it's a typical cheesy Korean romantic comedy, but the girl made me love it. She's awesome.

Chronicles of Narnia - <3 <3 <3 <3

Playing By Heart - Saw it on Comcast OnDemand. Second time around was blah for me. Ewww Ryan Philippe and Angelina Jolie. Ewww. I only like Gillian Anderson as Scully. She will always be Scully to me.

Bram Stoker's Dracula - OnDemand. Comical. Still a good movie, but we made fun of it a lot.

Toy Soldiers - OnDemand. Love Sean Astin in this and in 50 First Dates. Oh, and Goonies. One of my favorite older movies. Wil Wheaton is SO gay.

music: Tricky - Black Steel

Crossposted from my gaiaonline journal.

Wednesday night after the 3:45 showing of Rent broke, I saw a young black girl with a baseball cap walk out. I was working the door and was facing the theater so I saw her. There was a group of people waiting by the ropes waiting to get in, including two older black women. After the theater was cleaned, it was announced that the show was now seating. Then I see the young black girl follow the two older women into the theater. I told the usher to take the door so I could handle something and went in to ask the girl for her ticket. She claims 'sorry, I went into the wrong theater' and then left the building.

I wasn't pissed or anything. She was young and doing what young kids do. I know I'd have done that kind of thing when I was younger. Sneaking in and out of theaters. Plenty of times.

Today, she came back for the first show for Rent, which was at 12:50. When I came back from my break, Ben the day manager was in the box and I alerted him that someone who had tried to sneak in for a free show was in Rent. Two and a half hours later the theater broke and Ben asks that girl if she was there for the next show and she said she was. Ben was unsure of my description of the girl so he comes back to the box (where I was working) and questions me on how many tickets I sold, etc, etc. I tell him that only 6 tickets have been sold and I tore three of them already, the other three was purchased by a woman earlier. Ben didn't want to 'humiliate' the patron by asking her for her ticket. Hell, I would've asked anyway. That's the job as an usher. Or ANYONE. You're allowed to ask for tickets. It's not like a cavity search or anything.

So Ben goes back in and says he hadn't ripped any tickets yet so the girl apologizes and asks if she can buy a ticket and he says 'Sure'. I saw her walk out the door with Ben behind her.

If I see her again, I'll have to warn her about pulling that same stunt with me around. For the third time. I'm not angry about it. She didn't get fresh or anything. I don't know what the theater does about repeat offenders but I have a feeling that she had gotten away with this act before. Lame.

Oh, I saw Mr. and Mrs Smith and loved it. Also, Jane made brownies. I love it.
