4-5 Months since my last post....

Has it really been 4-5 months since my last post? Goodness, so much has happened! I can't even remember. I should really blog everyday. My boring, boring life.

My sister, Anne, had Melody Rose Powell and she is the sweetest! Peter and I renewed our lease at 11th Street so for another year we will be in South Philly. That's ok, it's my home! I got a new work setup! We moved into cubicles maybe a month or two ago and I had been teased by my coworkers for having a crappy slow desktop PC and crappy old monitors. Now I have matching Acer monitors (not sure on the size, maybe 22"?) and a new Dell laptop that I can take home and work with. I use a docking station at work. I also got a new keyboard and mouse. I bought my dad a new iPhone 5c and I recently purchased Pokemon X. I've reached endgame for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and started playing Path of Exile and Marvel Heroes.

Anyway, I hope to be on this more often. 4-5 months?! Sheesh.

Busy Days

Wow! It's been a really long time since I blogged. I wanted to do it from my phone but it's really hard and annoying. This week has been very busy for me at work with the new CIO and lots of technical writing and working on a flowchart. I haven't been going to the gym as regularly as I would like and I'm skeptical I will make 120 trips by next year! Didn't realize how hard it was to do that. Today it is rainy and it's affecting my mood as well as everyone else's it seems.

Not sure how to update.... so much has happened! Well, the Red Wedding finally happened in Game of Thrones last Sunday and it was GREAT! Very well done! I obsessed over it the very next day which didn't help with how busy I am. This Sunday will be the season finale. As for Bleach, I've been reading lots of fanfiction still and I found a Yoruhara fan community on fanfiction.net. I also found out that Tite Kubo will show Yoruichi's past with Urahara in the final arc. Very excited! Some new revelations in the latest manga, too. The latest Naruto Shippuden manga has been good while the anime has been BORING! Started and caught up to this new anime called Attack on Titan and it's very melodramatic but still entertaining. I'm intrigued.

Spent a lot of money last month! Not happy about that because I've also accumulated so much debt again! The cat got sick (approx $2k), I have to pay taxes ($2k) a root canal ($2k) ... and I may have to worry about car repair! It's all so stressful. I will have to go into savings to pay my root canal and I hate doing that, but I think it qualifies as an emergency. Just so many bills! I should have my taxes redone, I wonder if I did something wrong. It seems too much to have to pay. I normally get a small return.

Better get back to work. Just took out a few minutes to type some junk up. I miss blogging! I'm still active on Twitter at least. I also need to write up my experience at ECT!

April Duels II

Semi-eventful week coming up. Going to have my wisdom teeth finally removed after a torturous college experience when they grew in. But that was.... over 10 years ago. At least insurance will cover most of the cost so I will end up paying $200-250 out of pocket. That is happening this Thursday so I hope it goes well. This weekend, Peter is supposed to be picking up his sons so they can spend the week with us. My plans involve picking up Phillies tickets so we can all go to a game.

The past weekend was pretty fun. Saturday Peter and I drove to West Chester to see Danny so he can give my car an oil change. We dined at PF Chang's which was just OK but not worth the $50+ cost. After that we decided to drop by Harrah's since it wasn't too far away. Sugarhouse Casino is closer and just as lame, haha. But we had a drink at the C-bar and lost $80 on the slots. After that we sought redemption at David's Mai Lai Wah for the weak Chinese at PF Chang's and then watched the Canada Cup April Duels II stream.

Infinity Gauntlet / Ni No Kuni / Sword Art Online

Read and finished Infinity Gauntlet. Great story but also seemingly tongue-in-cheek humor which kind off eased the intensity it was trying to build. While I did like the ending, I felt it was also silly in a way. I enjoyed reading it especially for the ridiculousness of it. Thanos is obsessed with Mistress Death and has taken control of the Infinity Gauntlet and gems to try to impress her (it doesn't work). Poor Thanos has attained IMMENSE power thrice in his life and thrice he has lost it. Now he is just a farmer. LOL.

Recently picked up Ni No Kuni to hopefully start a new obsession (the Bleach one is still ongoing). About 20% in the game but now I have to go to the Temple of Trials so I'm trying to get some side quests in before I make that attempt.

Even more recently, Peter and I started watching Sword Art Online which started off with a great concept (kids get trapped in an MMO) but then dissolved into a romantic mushy mess that I hope will recoup in the second half of the series. So far, my hopes are fading as it really just fell apart so quickly. Strong individuals with no character development, sloppy plot time skips that all leads to some thrown together romance that just feels flaccid and turned the leads into huge crybabies. Now that the lead's "sister" is more involved, I'm scared about how fucked up this is going to look. We'll see.

Romance in TV series should NEVER be resolved UNTIL THE VERY END. Nothing kills a series faster than when the main couple hooks up. UGH.

Took Zelda to the vet this morning, adding to my list of problems and never ending debt growth. She has bladder stones that need to be removed and 2 teeth that also need to be taken out. Still awaiting the quote on that which I will get tonight. Random week! Got into a fight with my dad who was being annoying again on Sunday which resulted in us not visiting mom. Monday was busy but also irritating that I decided to just take off on Tuesday. I felt better coming back although I may be hurting my ears trying to drown out office noise around me with music.

Still did not do my taxes but I did pay off the first round of expensive ass electric bills and the long distance AT&T cell phone bill. The electric bill is still expensive and I will still be splitting my cell phone payments but they are at least manageable. However, I am also awaiting surgery for my wisdom teeth and that will not be cheap. Oh did I mention taxes? I am fearful I will end up owing money... BILLS ON BILLS ON BILLS.

Regretful for the Fond visit as it didn't even live up to my expectations but now I will have to pinch my pennies. I still really do want a bunch of video games, though. Also, I still want to drink a lot. I think I need both of those things just to stay sane. That's not asking too much is it? Blah.
