music: PENICILLIN - Samurai Boy

Saw DespairsRay tonight at Emerald City in Northern Liberties. We kinda walked in when they were playing Marry of the Blood. Then they played 2 other songs and that was it :( They sounded really great, though, it's sad they had such a short set. I have some pix (mostly bad ones) under the shows folder.

I really wish I hadn't skipped the Jello and the Melvins/Clockcleaner show. I heard from someone that Jello sang some DK songs! I love Dead Kennedys! :(

I don't want to work at any of the jobs tomorrow. So tiiiiired.

music: The Octopus Project - All of the Champs that Ever Lived

First, this song is awesome. I'm laying on my bed with my dog (okay, he just jumped down) listening to music on myspace (and my radio.blog) and Hackers is playing on the TV. Stuff is happening this week but I don't know if we are prepared for it (Max and I don't have costumes yet!).

music: The Pillows - Girls Don't Cry

Yay! I got an email saying I'm accepted into the Light & Night D2X clan! Woo! I downloaded some music yesterday and I've been really into it. Some DK stuff I haven't heard in a while, The Rolling Stones, and Billie Holiday. I need to get around listening to that Bob Dylan, Plaid, and Beck stuff I downloaded. Oh, I heard EXPO EXPO by m-flo and thought it was really good. I'm sad they don't have that female vox anymore. I missed enon last night, but I wasn't too bummed. Well, I was really bummed but I spent a lot of time on the Internet. Postcards and junk.

Acid Mother's Temple tonight at the Church.

music: enon - Disposable Parts

OMG look at this => Katamari Fantasy. Amazing, isn't it? Makes me want to pick up and play Katamari again b/c I haven't in a while. Been too absorbed in D2X and random movies.

I've been spending a lot of time in my room. My dad has been terrorizing me about my hair, carefully enunciating 'Eell-len Dee-gen-err-ess' every chance he can. WTF I like her hair.. and my hair looks nothing like hers. Still, it's kinda cool in a fucked up kinda way to have my own personal Al-Quaida. Blah.

music: Hall & Oates - Out of Touch

Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio

I saw a good portion of this movie today, since it's on the other screen opposite History of Violence. Julianne Moore is AMAZING. I always liked her but she brings such charisma to the screen. A wonderful actress! The movie is based on memoirs of the daughter of the mother who submitted jingles to companies to win prizes and help pay bills. The ending always tears me up inside. It's so sad and sentimental. I loved it!

My sister cut my hair Friday morning, around like 2AM. My dad saw me today and threatened to kick me out. Again.

music: Sonic Youth - Eric's Trip

Dear Kim Gordon,

I think you are fucking awesome. I think we should get married because I am awesome as well. Therefore, we can take over the world with our awesomeness and the insignificant will look upon us with awe due to our overwhelming awesomeness.

Sincerely,
mkatto of teh awsum.

YOWTFI WANT SUM FUGGIN ICE CREAM!!!

So yeah, here's a really bad movie for ya. My reasons for wanting to see this movie: my passes expire today (I had two left), the next show was 6:10, it was a short film, NC-17, Franz Ferdinand. The live footage of the different bands was cool, but all the sex was just..... fucking retarded. It was like watching a bad soft-core porn flick (haha, redundant... soft-core porn is just BAD!) with AWFUL editing (there's a level of quality difference here, the editing in porn != to non-porn movie editing) and the story was just empty. With equal focus on music, how come they play a nice piano melody during the love scenes? Even when the girl is saying 'Fuck me. Come here and fuck me'. BAD MOVIE! BAD! I ban thee to the depths of the underground cellar of awful! I'm going to subject you to the worst torture EVER! Ummm... how about... I dunno .... FORCING you to watch CRASH over and over! Till you freak and proclaim your neverending hatred for Paul Haggis and cheesy racist dialogue!

BTW, Franz Ferdinand played Jacqueline. There was also a scene where they played Michael, too. Some of the bands, I didn't know who they were. Um.. the Von Bondies were there and Black Motorcycle Rebel Club (or something, I'm sorry... I fail). I heard of them, at least.

I LOVE SONIC YOUTH. Especially Kim Gordon <3 <3

music: The Pillows - Noboranai Taiyou

Finally... Apple introduces video iPod. I wonder what took them so long? I've been waiting for the iPod to go beyond mp3 player to portable media player ever since I bought my Archos. I'm curious about the video playback and how I'd have to re-encode my videos to get them to play on it. This is assuming I'm going to get this next gen iPod and I probably will. When I get money saved up for it...

music: The Octopus Project - The Adjustor

Wow, I started reading Harry Potter today around 8 or so and I just finished around 12PM (I had a few breaks looking out to see if it stopped raining so I could take the dog for a walk). I have my *OWN* views on what happened. I can not reveal them yet but I will say that I HAVE FAITH IN SNAPE!

music: fat jon - genome

CJ and I just got back from seeing Metric at the First Unitarian Church. It was pretty good, the opening bands were great as well. We just got reallllly tired during Metric's set. I think it was the heat of everyone cuz it was a big crowd... so the air-conditioning and fans kinda got stagnant. Typical kids who were over-enthusiastically dancing during the fast songs and lots of hipster artfag kids. Whoa, also ran into Khari who brought a friend. That was a surprise. Metric played all my favorite songs, including Dead Disco which came during the encore. It was after that song that we left. BTW, we ran into a decent looking Korean restaurant... we gotta stop by there someday.

music: Force of Nature/fat jon/NUJABES - in position

OMG UPDATE!!!

Uploaded a bunch of pix under 'shows' and 'campix' so check them out yo.

I am alll up on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Ron and Hermoine drama HEARTHEARTHEART. My favorite words are 'prat' and 'scandalized'. Twice already I've read the line 'Hermoine looked scandalized'. Just trying to imagine that makes me giggle like a cheerleader whore.

I don't know WTF is going on at work but it's the usual erratic-ness that occurs every so often. Gonna be a drinking night Friday so I'm HOPING someone will pick up my shift at the Ritz so I can witness (with my shitmatic Nikon Coolpix) the drunken bastardness of everyone present.

I haven't played We Love Katamari in a while. I probably should before my sanity completely slips and I start handing everyone bananas and turquoise flower pumpkin holder.

OMGWTF.

music: Syrup16g - Yume

Okay, here's the video for the Nintendo Revolution controller:
Nintendo Revolution Controller

So, it looks stupid b/c it's a remote, right? Well, watching the video, I'm kinda curious about how to play the games. It'll almost be like a home arcade. Playing with one hand means I'll prob tire out my right hand, but I'll be able to use my left. Is this good or bad? No idea, but the video makes me really anxious to try out the Revolution. I'm still not picking up ANY systems at launch. Everyone's running to get X-Box and PS3. Not me.

music: Melt-Banana - Circle Jack

Oh man... We Love Katamari is sooo good. My favorite song is 'Everlasting Love' and I think it's by the same girl who sings 'Lonely Rolling Star' (her name is Alisa..?). Worked Friday night (busy, busy!) and Saturday morning (not so busy, but the day went by realllly fast). I watched Band of Outsiders this morning, a movie by Jean-Luc Godard. It was okay, I liked Anna Karina, watched the Criterion interview taken in 2002. My favorite scene was when they did the Madison in the restaurant. Franz was fun to watch. Also saw White Noise a below par movie about EVP (something about paranormal communication via staticky noise). I found out that Sarah Strange, who plays Jonathan Rivers' (Michael Keaton) ex-wife also does voice work for the Ranma 1/2 dub. Interesting stuff.
