Today, Jane and I took Max to PetsMart in the rain. Bought some essentials including a bag to carry Max. I had a headache the whole day. Watched Crying Fist and cried at the end. Finally finished Mean Streets and thought the acting was fantastic. Although De Niro's character (Johnny) annoyed me a lot.

I'm angry. It must be my period. I love Joe Odagiri and Ryuhei Matsuda. I want the Elevator to the Gallows poster. I want to buy a LOT of DVDs on YesAsia.com. I have to watch a lot of movies. I hate boys. I hate girls. I hate everyone. I love animals. I don't hate my mom or my sisters. I have no friends. That fact doesn't upset me. I don't know if I should be upset. Or if I should feel lucky. I'm totally rambling. I think I'm emo right now. I should listen to some Dashboard Confessional. Nah.

music: Melt-Banana - Excess

Last night I had volunteered to take the box over for Hugo, because everyone likes him and it's just WRONG for him to be contained. It was crazy last night because the 7pm show for Brokeback Mountain nearly sold out (27 out of 295 tickets were left). I was freaking out because I didn't want to be off in my drawer, it turns out I was about .50 cents short so it wasn't too bad.

Today, I was opening in the box and at the end of the day, I'm frackin' $10 short! I was absolutely devastated and just so disappointed in myself. The managers made it sound like it was no big deal but I didn't feel that way at all. I left feeling horribly miserable, even though Fran handed me over the pilot to Twin Peaks. I was close to tears and I started to contemplate quitting over it. I was thinking that I probably would've felt better if I was punished for it, like getting written up. Or calling Ren to come over to the East and punching me (because she's got fists that would cause max damage). So yeah, I rarely work with money there, I'm usually usher or door, but I don't mind handling money. I feel like I let people down, that I'm no longer good at handling money (at work). Confidence is killed.

So, to make myself feel better, I headed over to Society Hill TLA Video and bought 5 DVDs. I bought the following Criterion Collection DVDs: Masculin Feminin (Godard), Yojimbo (Kurosawa), Sanjuro (Kurosawa), Jules and Jim (Truffaut), and I bought the non-Criterion Eraserhead. Nothing like adding to the huge pile of movies I need to watch.

music: Boston - More Than a Feeling (Guitar Hero)

Jane and I were late leaving the house so we missed Breakfast on Pluto. We decided to check out Match Point instead and I LOVED IT. Best movie I've seen in theaters this year. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys-Meyer were both fantastic. Great casting.

Currently watching Twin Peaks Season 1 and am fairly enjoying it. It was unseasonably warm today. Irritating. Hopefully, Jane and I will see Breakfast on Pluto on Friday. I also intend on shortening this massive pile of movies I need to watch. It's amazingly overwhelming.

Oh, I went to work in West Philly again today and lunched at this place on the corner of 52nd and Chestnut. It was immensely satisfying, although I was remorseful for spending so much money I really need.

Taco Max was naked when I came home. It was hot, anyway. He's growing nice and fuzzy again, too. His current level of fuzziness meets my approval. Highly.

New plan! I'm going to list every movie I've seen in 2006. That way, end of the year, I'll know just how many movies I've seen. Nerdy, huh? Yes. And dorkful. Very whale penis-y.The early movies came out in 2005 but I waited a while to see them. Oh, and I'm including movies that I've rented.

I take such great pleasure in talking about movies. Anything and everything about movies. Except when it's all about movies I haven't seen yet.

I'm going to give the Terry Gilliam movie, Brazil, another chance. Please wish me luck.

I am eventually going to post my New Years resolutions but I have a feeling it will all end in failure. Oy.

Yesterday with a few minutes left until the New Year, I watched the Monica Bellucci film Malena. It was pretty good but all the scenes where there is a sexual encounter with the boy and Malena was pretty disturbing. It's interesting to note that had sexes been reversed, there would've been an uproar. Poor Malena, the men always staring at her and the women hating on her. Everyone is just whispering about her, all because she's so pretty. I watched the US edit of it so some of the beatdown of Malena was cut out. It was still pretty brutal, though.

I also just watched the Korean gangster flick A Bittersweet Life by Kim Ji-woon. It was a LOT like Oldboy, even some of the music reminded me of a certain track from the Oldboy OST. Aside from that, some of the violence reminded me of Park Chan Wook films. The guy who's teeth get extracted in Oldboy also has a role in ABL. Overall, it was a pretty good movie. The shootout at the end was something like a John Woo gun-fu scene and the ending was ... surprising? If I interpreted correctly, I guess.
